ADVENTURES IN LEGO

I had basic LEGO sets when I was a kid and made lots of houses. Then one day I went to the local toyshop with a fistful of saved up pocket money and the whole toy world was mine for the choosing. It was then I saw set 924, The Space Transporter, and everything changed. I bought it, and came back for more. I got myself a couple of the smaller classic space vehicles and then I saved up for the holy grail of classic space and got myself set 928, The Galaxy Explorer.

I quickly moved from classic space to Technic and then 'grew up' and put away childish things (luckily only as far away as the loft)

Then a just over a year ago I found myself looking through Flickr and found some amazing pics of LEGO creations, far in advance of anything I had seen before and with a bit of digging around I found out about Adult Fans Of LEGO and I dipped my toes back in the water again.

So many new parts, so many new colours, the options seemed endless. I dug out my old sets and looked on ebay for new sets and found something better, individual bricks for sale, anything I needed, delivered to my door! My collection started to slowly increase, then I found LEGO Digital Designer and Pick-a-Brick and my fate was sealed :D

I am much more of an engineer than I am an architect, so my designs are more functional and less beautiful, but I am totally inspired by so many of the builders on here to try harder.

"Iam always amazed at the artists on Flickr that have said they put away childish thoughts and toys only to come back to them! The child in you has made me pleased! Steve Nighteagle"
