I'm an explorer of virtual worlds and an admirer of the creativity and community I find there. I love music and the visual arts.

I started off posting photos to Flickr without much of an idea of what I was trying to achieve, but I guess my collection has turned out to be a combination of a diary of my virtual world experiences, a record of good times with friends, & a challenge to myself to capture some interesting images.

I hope it is also serves to illustrate in some small way some of the potentials of virtual worlds and to promote the creative talents of many of their residents.

For a long time, the only processing I did on snapshots was some cropping. Partly that's because I'm slightly daunted by the range of features available in Gimp et al, partly because I fear that once I'd embarked on that I'd never feel anything was "finished" and I'd spend so long processing shots that I'd never get them uploaded, and partly because I want to see what can be achieved without processing. And that isn't meant to be a criticism of those photographers who do post-process images, I hasten to add! Not at all! Some of my own favourite photographers are experts in those tools and I regularly swoon with admiration at the results they achieve.

Recently, I have started to dip my toes in the waters of the Gimp, and do a little bit of processing, mainly to try to lighten up some dark shots.

I am conscious of issues of the IPR of content creators in virtual worlds and have sought as far as possible to provide attribution to the primary content creators in the descriptions of images. If any content creators feel that my images infringe their IPR, please let me know and I will remove the item immediately.

I do not sell any of my images.

Except where indicated otherwise, my images are available under a Creative Commons By-Attribution-Non-Commercial Licence, or at least they should be if I've got things set up right. This means that they are not available for commercial use. In some cases, different licences apply. Please check the licences for individual images carefully before reusing them.
