Wargaming IT person. Married, two children. Tranny tendencies. Dabbler in Sherlock Holmes and military history. Originally from the UK, but now settling into Australia after moving here in September 2008.
Most of the early pictures in my stream were taken by me using my venerable Fuji Finepix F401. However this died at the end of July 2008. My current camera is an Olympus SP550UZ i acquired through the kindness of another Flickr member. However I am becoming increasingly obsessed by the convenience of my iPhone. I sometimes fall back on my venerable Olypus u600 as well.
I also have a cheapass waterproof camera.
For the techies I use one of the cameras listed above. These days I stick them on a on a bean-bag pod if I need portability. Very rarely I use a mini-tripod. As of Christmas 2010 I have a proper tripod (actually two proper tripods, owing to a mix-up with the Christmas present list), so I would hope my pictures might be less blurry. I have a small light-tent I use for some of the Lego shots (but only if I can be bothered to get it out). Self-portraits are either done at arm's length, or on a 10 second timer. Or in a mirror. And I use whatever lighting is around - daylight or room-light. If pictures have been edited (and I do this more and more now) then it's in Photoshop Elements or Picnick. But I'm still learning how best to use them. I also use various apps on the iPhone, because there's something fun about editing pictures whilst walking down the street.
I did four years of the 365 Days self-portrait project. You can see random pictures from the project here.

"Kaptain Kobold has been one of the fellow 365/FGR/TRP'ers that I really look up to. Not only is he crazy enough to do a third year, he has a really great attitude about the whole thing, that not every shot is going to be a masterpiece, and just have fun with it. And he manages to come up with some of the most creative ideas for self-portraits, which is really impressive considering how many of them he's had to do so far. He's been an inspiration to keep me going on my own 365 Days."

"Oh Kaptain, my Kaptain. I value you.
He's one of the people I look for without fail. There's a real creativity and always something different going on. We'll not mention Godzilla."7th August, 2008

"What can I say to someone who gave a few encouraging words to a beginner and thus gave them the confidence to go on and do a little better a lot more often. I am fascinated by his images and can spend hours looking through the thousands he appears to have uploaded. What a guy!"

"You never quite know what you are going to get in this stream, and for me that makes it a fun one to come back to. I love Kaptain Kobold's kindness and sense of adventure, his self portraits are very amusing, he has the most extensive Lego set and his self portraits with a Godzilla mask are always a delight! He seems like a great family man, who looks hot in the wife's dresses and pearls, honestly what more would you want in a guy?"
