I was into photography years ago and had a decent 35mm SLR that's been sitting in the closet for a long time. I recently took a class on using the manual features of my digital camera, and then I learned that my Canon A510 point-and-shoot could do a lot more than I thought... but not quite enough.

I now have an Olympus Evolt E-510 DSLR and I'm very happy with it. I'm still learning how to use it, and I take it out with me a few times each week, mostly for nature and wildlife shots.

I like the form factor of the sensor for the E-510 - it's a Four Thirds-sized sensor, which has some drawbacks but in my opinion they're offset by the fact that lenses can be a lot smaller and lighter. My 40-150mm zoom is equivalent to an 80-300mm lens on a camera with a full-size sensor, so I can travel light. And the lenses are nice and sharp.

I'm a web designer/developer and am interested in photography for a different kind of creative outlet - this gets me outside.
