I made my first photograph in the spring of 1949 of my baby sister sitting on the grass in our backyard. Although I was only four years old, I remember it as if it were today. Photography made a big impression on me.

It wasn't until I was14 when I got a telescope for Christmas and I wanted to photograph through it when I realized wanted be a photographer. I blocked out the light coming in the window and door of the bathroom to develop my first roll of film. I was hooked for life!

I've worked in the photographic profession in one way or another ever since I left high school.

I believe serendipity is happening all around us, we only need to open our mind, eyes and ears to enjoy it!

"This testimonial is from Bob Zentz, www.bobzentz.com/...

Jerry Kelley has been a professional photographer in Hampton Roads and beyond for just about as long as I've been performing, and I've always been a fan of his work, whether in his years with McIntosh Studios or on his own. Jerry was a friend from the Ramblin' Conrad's days, and it was great fun catching up on each of our ramblin's during the years gone by.

For a good part of July and August 2009, Jerry followed us from gig to gig, into the recording studio, and finally out to a special beach that holds much meaning for me, my family, and those I love. The result of those sessions is a collection of images that are more than just photographs. They are memories that would have been lost without his art, and part of our lives now.

I can say without reservation that working with Jerry was a pleasure, and the results were beyond any of our expectations. He has a gift at making people feel completely at ease, and an eye for seeing the shot that no one else does. I treasure his friendship, and his work."
