backcountryphototours

Thanks for stopping by and viewing my images. I am an award-winning fine art nature photographer from Seattle, Washington. My vision comes from years on the road and on the trail. I have explored 66 countries on 6 continents and I have hiked many of the world's greatest trails. My passion for traveling and exploration pushes my photographic abilities to new heights. I update my site regularly with new images.

I display and sell my work at fine art shows in the Pacific Northwest. I also produce custom orders for corporate offices and homes.

I offer Photography Workshops & Tours. My workshops and tours are designed to cater to your needs. My time is spent touring and teaching, not creating images for myself. I limit my tours to 4 participants to make sure everyone gets the attention they deserve. This is unprecedented in the business, and I pride myself on having the most hands on tour in the industry. We tour from dark to dark, and when we’re not in the field, you will find us in the digital darkroom taking our processing to the next level. I encourage you to read recent testimonials to see what makes my photography tours and workshops the top choice in the field. Wherever you fall on the photographic spectrum, from beginner to advanced, Backcountry Photo Tours. is for you. Locations include: The Columbia River Gorge, The Palouse, Olympic National Park, Zion National Park, Valley of Fire State Park & Leavenworth, WA

I offer an Intro to Digital Photography class and a Lightroom 3 Processing class in Seattle. To see my schedule an book a class see Seattle Classes.

I offer the following services at a rate of $75 per hour:

~Processing lessons including Photoshop, Lightroom, Nik Software, Photomatix, Perfect Resize & Helicon Focus. These lessons can take place at your home (if located in the Seattle area), at my studio, or online via Skype. Not matter where you are in the world, we can work together.

~Camera instruction including full manual control of your DSLR.

~Portfolios reviews including critiquing multiple images and improving your photography, from visualization to processing.

I am always happy to receive inquiries about my work.

I hope you enjoy my photostream. All my photos are available for sale. Please visit my site or shoot me an email to discuss purchases.

"It might be easy to underestimate Justin's talent~after all, he is one of the most humble photographers and nicest guys I've met in this "Gotta Get the Shot" Circus~

But when you get past that "melt me in an instant " smile and endearingly "PJ's & Crocs" laid back persona~ and take a real look at his work - you will be impressed.

Some of Justin's latest bird shots just blew me away~TRUE STORY! He is technically at the top of his game and is so into learning and growing in this craft, I guarantee he will stay there.

And he is one of the most infectiously inspiring outdoorsman I have ever known~passionate about seeing the world and truly experiencing it and sharing it with everyone as well. I can't wait for the photo-field workshops and I can't even begin to tell you how fortunate I feel to follow in your footsteps:)

Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm for this art and your zest for life, Reznick- you are the type of photographer and human being everyone wants to be around because you make us smiley:)

I love viewing the world through your eyes~ keep traveling and shooting, friend~m:)"

"What an honor it is to be the first to write a testimonial for Justin. When I came across his photostream it was clear I had found a gifted photographer. He has such a great eye and executes his work well. I had the pleasure of meeting him a few times and he's a true gem. I could listen to his travel tales for hours. He truly has such a gift and continues to inspire me with each image he takes. I don't think I'm alone here...who's next? :)"
