My shutterbug brother and father bought me a point-and-shoot for Christmas in 2007 and included a Flickr membership in it as well. Best Christmas present ever.

It's made all the more amazing by the amount of research my brother put into finding this PS. It has a fairly versatile manual mode, so I've been using it to explore photography rather than just pointing and clicking.

I'd like to eventually start shooting with a DSLR when my budget allows it and play around with depth-of-field effects and lenses.

I subscribe to the photojournalist ethic - by which I mean none of my photos are digitally edited unless specifically noted. I don't consider in-camera effects as digital editing unless they are done after the shot is taken.

I do this as a hobby for the enjoyment of myself and others, so all of my items are under a Creative Commons license which explicitly gives you the right to share, photoshop and use my photos for any non-commercial purpose so long as you give me credit. You are able use my photos for commercial purposes, but you have to contact me first.
