Thanks for stopping by my photostream...

Most of the images here are from the natural world, as that is something I am passionate about. I love the land, its shapes and subtleties, the plants and animals, light and shadow. I have a special fondness for abstracts, especially from nature, but also really anything. I love finding movement and flow all around me and presenting it for others to experience. My “impressionist” series highlights that most extremely, but I think it’s a prevalent theme throughout my work.

This is what I try to do when I go out with the camera: keep my mind and eyes open, stay in the present moment and in the physical world, not think or judge so much…just paying attention to things and to how things make me feel (both emotionally and physically) Somehow that guides me to finding all sorts of interesting subjects and compositions, including ones that resonate with my feelings. Someone once asked me how to infuse emotion into a photograph, and I think this is a way to accomplish that.

In showing my images, I want my viewers to open their eyes, see the beauty and wonder that is always around us, and to not take for granted this precious place we inhabit.

~I appreciate the inspiration and sharing that goes on here. I can’t always keep up with adding contacts and commenting as much as I’d like, but know I appreciate all that is shared- words and images- and I do my best to reciprocate by contributing to the Flickrverse at large.~

There's an interview of me here if you are interested to read more.

I have an exhibition called "Seeing and Imagining" in which I describe part of my creative process, giving examples with 10 photographs. Click the link below for more information.

    Alpine Light & Structure says:

"Could it be that Justbelightful is an Impressionist? She's always experimenting - just look at those water ripples, motion blurs, golden mists - but the experiments are always true to the nature and light. She's got an eye for detail too: take a look at those ice studies. Yes, the more you look at these delightful Justbelightfuls, the more you'll agree their author really belongs to the Flickr School of Impressionists...."
