Julian Touceda, Artist's photostream

I am a visual artist from New Orleans, Louisiana living in Texas. I work for the federal Goverment as a US Officer. I been painting and creating Art all my life. I still create and paint after being displaced by Hurricane Katrina. The work takes time since I have to work to make a living but I enjoy living here in Austin. Its not New Orleans that I miss but being away from the Culture as an Artist. Its a bit different here in such a large State as Texas. It is surrounded by beautiful Hills and Nature seems to be a prime topic.

Anyway Photograpghy has been one of my favorite past time away from work and creating. Hiking around the surrounding areas has expose me to various trails where beauty can be found. The wild perserve of Nature is something to see and photograph. The many creeks and rivers in Texas have their own beauty that it begs to be photograph. There are several Waterfalls near by where I can photograph and some of the Photographs that you seeing are on this Flickr Web Site. The Seasons also play an important part in these images that I have to note what Season I am photographing in. I been using my Cannon Power Shot A590 Digital cameras in all these Images that you are seeing. My Movies cameras and SLRs are idle at the moment as I explore this camera and it's features. The Softwares that I am using the most are Microsoft It 7.0(no longer in used by Microsoft), Picasa editing, and Gimps Portable.

Being Spanish and brought up in Cajun Louisiana has been a blessing for me and even my cajun accent seem to make people curouis about who I am. Texas is a multi-cultural state and my spanish comes in handy as I cross from one culture or langauge to the next. Fine Arts is another form of expressing myself as a visual person and Artist.

This is my first set of Photographs and will add to it as time permitt. I have another set of Photograph but these photo are base on what i saw and waht I photograph during the Fall of 2005; right after Hurricane Katrina slam into New Orleans and the surrounding Parishs. I'll be placing them in good time as soon as I can get them formatted into digital form.

By creating this Flickr web site I reach out to a much greater community of people who have something in common with me and that is Art and Photography.
