I've always had an interest in the arts, especially photography but only really started to take it seriously when I bought my first (and current!) SLR a few years ago. I try to be pretty broad in my subjects, but generally end up shooting nature, planes or landscapes and doing an awful lot less people photography than I'd like.

My main haunts are in and around Cambridge - basically wherever I can get on my bike - or my home island of Jersey, where I'm happiest watching a nice sunset from the beach :)

I use a Canon 450D along with the kit 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6, a 55-250mm f/4-5.6 zoom,a 50mm f/1.8 prime and have recently bought a 100mm f/2.8 macro USM - although I've not had time to use it as I'm supposed to writing up my PhD!

Would love to get hold of a nice wide angle for landscapes and a longer zoom to improve my wildlife photography, but being a student/scientist isn't the most lucrative of careers! Maybe one day....

You'll probably have notice that I'm about a year behind in uploading photos - I have thousands stacked up on my hard drive waiting to be looked through, processed and uploaded but writing a thesis saps an awful amount of time, so they may have to wait!
