After nearly three years on Flickr I think I can say my photography skills have improved a fair bit. I began with a Canon 400D but think I really began to take photography seriously (as much as I take anything seriously) when I upgraded to the 5D. My standard lens is the Canon 28-135mm but more and more I find myself using the Canon EF 100m 1:2.8 macro lens. It's a beautiful piece of glass and has certainly fuelled my recent obsessions with macro and shallow dof photography.
I'm not averse to undertaking the odd project and have completed two 365s and several 30 day projects. These are mostly for my own amusement, but I hope other people can enjoy them as well.
I've learnt an awful lot here on flickr, mostly from my contacts but also from general browsing. I sincerely hope that Yahoo corporateness doesn't bugger it up.

    trykemom says:

"I love Julie's creativity. She can managed to keep a 365 and a 30 day series going at the same time and they are always interesting and different. She is always trying new things and I get all kinds of ideas from her.

I enjoy seeing the world around her which is far away from what I know. She shows the reality and the beauty.

She is also a supportive friend and I appreciate the time she takes in my photo stream.

I'm happy we have met through Flickr with a little help from Shirl."

"I'm new to Flickr and SLR photography and jsarcardia's photostream (may I call you Julie?) has been an inspiration. Not only that, but she is happy to give advice and assistance to a 'newbie'. Pity her choice of football team though!! Thanks Julie."

    Aunt Owwee says:

"There once was a girl named Julie,
Who at times could be a bit unruly.
    But give her a lens,
Send her out to the fens,
And she comes back with awesome photos, truly.

    Yay you!"
