** My photostream will be under major (needed) alteration over the next couple of weeks, as I upload my Spain pictures from the summer of 2007. I got the number down to about 2,200, and I'm just going to let it be at that. I wanted to keep chronology, so I just need to get these up there (I doubt I'll get around to names soon...) before I upload a lot of other stuff I've been wanting to, such as 2008's New Orleans summer, with some great stuff there. So, prepare for a tripling in size of my photos, and hopefully you'll see some you like. **

I am a college student who likes photography as a medium for communicating ideas. I like artistic shots that tell us something about the world from a different perspective. I like straight-on didactic shots that explicitly describe a place. I like photography in general.

I like to use this Flickr photostream as a place for photos that tell I story I care about (that's why I have a collection of dead malls photos) for trips I want to share (yeah, I'll be getting to my Spanish trip photos soon; there are 1,000s I have to sift through to choose what to post) and for photos that people ask me to put online. I generally hate Facebook photos, even though it is vastly more popular for our generation. I'll keep my distasteful party photos there.

So, part of my Flickr personality is me as I want to be. Passionate, artistic, and sometimes good at photography (believe me, there are thousands of photos I've taken that suck). I've tried to create that identity for the Flickr community.

While I'm being completely open about my (somewhat different) online personality, I want to ask the community about my profile icon (on the top left of this page). I have had the same one since I started my Flickr account back in February 2006. Who is it? Reply by messaging your answers to me through Flickr mail. I will have the utmost gratitude to whoever gets it right, and possibly, a lasting friendship. I will also post the full photo on my photostream.
