I'm 46 and married with 4 kids and have always lived in Dublin. It's a busy house but we manage to get out a lot around Dublin and the surounding counties at the weekends and the cameras always with us.

I have always loved photography and my 1st camera was a Canon AE1 bought secondhand. It was traded up to an Olympus OM2 which was a brand new camera at the time and a great camera but I could never settle with it and bought a Canon A1 after a few years which I shared with my brother which we used for years following car rallies all over Ireland of which we have 1000's of photos from in the 1980's.

I later sold my share to him and went trough a few secondhand cameras Olympus OM 10 and back to a Canon T70 before I bought a new Canon 50E when it first came out.

My switch to digital started witha Fuji 602 which cost me €1200 at the time and then on to a Fuji 9600. I like many other was waiting for digital SLR's to drop in price and I held off buying until this year when I got my Canon 30D with a 17-85mm lense in a kit. I hope to add a few lenses over the next year and I'm still finding my way around the camera now.

The camera goes everywhere with me and as I'm in a job where I'm out and about all the time it's getting a lot of use these days.I'm delighted I found Flickr as it's great to share photos and to get ideas from and to see other peoples photos.
