I grew up in Maine, went to school at Hampshire College in Amherst, MA, and then lived in northern Virginia and worked for the federal government in DC for awhile. Then I went to grad school in Scotland, which was picturesque but kinda dull, so I traded up for more grad school in London.

I always had some kind of interest in photography, which basically came and went with my cameras-- I had a 35mm SLR in high school, but when that broke I stopped taking pictures. A couple of years ago I got a little digital point-and-shoot and rediscovered photography. A year after that, I got a Canon EOS 30D, which means that my camera is much more capable than its owner. I took a couple of photo classes but I mostly just want to keep it as a hobby.
