I am very much the amateur photographer, but I am learning, mostly through trial and error. While I like to take pictures, I don't often have the occasion to do so. And while I like to take them, I don't much like being in them.

Over the last couple of years, I have learned a few things from trial and error. I am now shooting more photos from manual mode instead of totally relying on automatic settings. Sure, I have a lot more to learn, but I'm getting there, and I am not aiming to become pro.

My earlier photos will have very few photos of people in them. That's because I was uncomfortable taking pictures of strangers (and posting those of family and friends to the public arena). Lately, I am taking more and more photos of strangers, so you'll start seeing more photos with people in them.

Even at that, while I would like to develop skills taking portraits, I am still primarily someone who takes pictures of things: gardens, sunsets, events, etc.
