Thanks for visiting my photo stream I hope you enjoy some of my shots which have been uploaded over two years since 2007.
I was given a very early introduction to photography by my father who gave me my first rangefinder(a Kodak retinette) at age seven we bulk loaded our film developed our stuff and even printed it in our blacked-out kitchen at night.
I grew up in Dublin and part of walking the dog involved putting a camera around my neck before I rattled the dog lead and went walking down the canals in Dublin and generally wandering about.
I have always had a camera I've had a contax GII for about twelve years but it was only when my brother Mark gave me a canon A460 a few years ago that my prejudice for digital cameras waned and I got introduced to Flickr.
Since then I have still used film on my contax a holga a fed4 a mamiya twin lens medium format Recently I bought a Nikon D700 to which I added a superwide lens and a range of old Nikkor lenses (compliments of my bro) and now I live in the best of both worlds digital back and really nice Nikkor lenses from 1961.
I am constantly humbled by what i see and find on flickr such amazing shots it makes me a better wanabe photographer and encourages me to get out and get the next good one and wait for a comment.
If I get some money together I might enroll in a college and get some decent training on stuff I don't know about taking pictures if that doesn't happen I think I'll always continue taking shots .. the more I take the luckier I get .. my philosophy includes that the picture is as much behind the camera as in front of it and I hope that shows.
