"John seems to be an amiable person that I would like to know personally and has been to places where I have dreamed of visiting. Then again with his photos and unique perspective, it feels like I have been there already. His simple style gives you the sense of the big picture and the feeling of having smelled, touched and heard the place: a reverse 'Gestalt' ("the whole is greater than the sum of its parts"). His eye for details (...the parts...) gives you a better sense of the whole.
Though whimsically creative, he does not impose his artistry on the scenes he captures but rather carefully passes it on to his audience.
