"I think your dog portraits are my favourite-something about them- you bring out the people in dogs and the dogs in people I think. And I feel like I can live another, more southern, life through your photos, with the light all dappled and a thin layer of glorious grime all over my body all of a sudden. Thanks for letting me live that, 'specially being that I'm up in shivering Michigan mostly where history is shorter and so's the summer. Keep on lovely brother!"

"When Kelso broke his leg, I took him to have surgery. I waited in the hospital bed all day for him to be finished. Sometimes I'd get up and wander around the hospital to pass the time, looking for the newborn babies, but I couldn't find them. When he woke up, he was delirious with pain and couldn't piss from the anesthesia. He was blathering and crying, and I was so rattled by the trauma, I just started shitting everywhere, and all the nurses were like zomg wtf, it was the worst day ever!!!!1"

"his photographs have an unspeakable quality to them - that ability to catch that magical moment that passes by so quickly, some people miss it, but not him or his camera. that moment catching is my favourite thing about photography - the way to let an instant live on forever. theres so much character there. bravo i say, bravo."

"Capturing a moment is not just taking a shot of particular place in time. Capturing the moment is about bringing about all the emotion, feeling, and true being at that split second...or whatever you have your shutter set to. When a moment is captured, you can feel as if you were there to experience it for yourself. You can see the playfulness in a childs eyes, the warmth and breeze of an open field, and even the sadness in a friend who knows he will be leaving soon. Kelso is what I have scene to be truly a person who understands this meaning. He is a photographer that can bring you on journey...and you do not even have to leave your home."
