"John has kept me interested and entertained from the time I added him as a contact. His images are always splendid to the eye and technically sound. His love of nature and photography come through in every scene John captures, and he frequently drops by with positive and insightful comments to help his contacts improve their efforts. When they dreamed up Flickr, they had photographers like John in mind!"

"John has a great love for nature and his photos ALL show it. He always takes time to comment on your photos if you are a contact of his (or not) and I consider him more than just a contact. He's also a very nice friend. His photos inspire me to try different captures in nature other than my comfort zone of the macro I seem to be drawn to. Thanks for being a contact and a friend John!!"

"Grand Master John is by far the most skilled nature photographer I have encounterd in Flickr (and note that he was one of the first I had stumbled upon). I appreciate his relatively low upload rate as each one of his photos is a photographic event, rare and unique.
I have this scene in my mind when I watch his photos: John finds the theme, usually simple and austere, spends some few minutes searching for the right angle, frame and settings and then, very gently, snaps the one and only perfect shot. A genuine photographic eye!"4th February, 2008

Don Briggs says:
" John is a very productive photographer that manages to keep 3 different Flickr sites stocked with beautiful photos of fauna and flora. He often gives information on location and subject matter and he always answers any inquiries that a person may have about his photos. He individually thanks everyone for their feedback and comments on his photography. It seems that he has to be as one with nature to accomplish so many close candid captures of birds, bugs and beautiful scenes.
John has great sense of humor that comes through during some of his comments and is always good for a smile and at times a real laugh out loud. His visits to my photo-stream are always appreciated.
I always look forward to seeing the world through his eyes! He is a great Flickr buddy contact. I would love to follow him on one of his photo taking outings. I could learn so much."22nd January, 2008

"John's work is truly awesome. His work inspires and excites me with the endless possibilities that he sees in some of the most ordinary sights. He shares his quest for adventure with us through his pictures and takes us to places we may never have seen otherwise. In nature, he manages to capture the true essence of beauty for all to see. Not only is he a wonderful photographer but he is also so willing to share his knowledge with those of us who are just learning to navigate our way around a camera. He has an amazing ability to critique a picture without sounding critical - a wonderful gift and very helpful to me. I look forward each time I sign on to Flickr to see what joyous shots he will have uploaded. Don't forget when viewing his pictures that he has mutiple names or you will miss out on some beautiful shots. John - keep 'em coming - they are inspiration to me and many others."

"I was drawn to John's photography mostly because of our shared love for Colorado and the mountains. John was my first contact on flickr, and one of the first people I called a friend as well. He's always there with a great comment or a helpful suggestion - (when I don't quite "get" what he's suggesting, he's right there to "show" me!)
I'm always eager to see what John has posted - wondering if I'm going to see some beautiful garden or an unusual sort of plant; or if it'll be a mountain (have I been there? have I taken a similar shot?); or one of his inspirational posters (where does he find the right words to express what the picture is showing?)
I hope someday, in my travels, to meet up with him in person so we can sit down and have a true conversation!"16th April, 2007
