On New Year's day 1854, a young family of Johann Friedrich and Marie Elisabeth Jericho and their 1-year old son Johann Friedrich, arrived in Port Adelaide on the Caesar Godeffroy after a non-stop 3-month voyage from Hamburg. Their pioneer spirit is still with us. Their dreams of freedom and a 'better life' live on through the following generations. They are remembered with love and respect by grateful descendants.

A committee of some of his descendants has updated the Family Tree and published a book for the family reunion which was held at the Tanunda Showgrounds on 20-21 March 2004, celebrating 150 years since the arrival of J. F. Jericho in Australia.
