Self 40 (by mrhollygolightly)

I am a visual effects artist and photography instructor from the SF Bay Area. I've been a photographer for as long as I can remember. All but one camera I shoot with, shoot film. I develop and print all of my B&W (and now developing my own c41!) and I'm doing my part to keep film alive.. because there's no argument that it's better than digital.. for now at least. :)

Photographers that inspire me:

Henri Cartier-Bresson
Sebastiao Selgado
Elliott Erwitt
Alec Soth
Stephen Shore
Edward Weston

    jmark media llc says:

"Joel is a very skilled artist. It is hard to categorize his work because it is so varied yet fine. His B&W work is most impressive to me. Some images are dark and moody while others look like what one might see in the 1950 on the cover of the Saturday Evening Post. In any case, it is clear that Joel has a very trained eye for composition and for being there in the moment.

Joel has a very kind heart and many interesting experiences to share. Well written, articulate and gentle hearted, Joel brings a breath of fresh air into any organization. Watch this photostream. Learn. Joel will not put up 100 images a month, but the 2 or 3 that you see here will be stunning and fun! From a professional standpoint, you would be surprised how much of his work you have seen. Book mark this page.
