"I think his long list of testimonials say alot. I've discovered that the photographic community here, in true Filipino tradition, is a family. It's been a real pleasure discovering it, knowing this alternative exists. Jojo is a Photographic Barangay Kaptain who has done so much for the development of the art of photography and community in the Philippines. He is also a champion of culture and history, the consumate teacher, and he does it all with the aplomb of an educational TV comedy host... at pogi pa sya. Parang lagi sya nag babantay sa amin. Maraming maraming salamat Sir Jojo."

"Sir jobar! i think the first person that i met here in flickr.. sa kanya ako bumuntot sa first photowalk na sinamahan ko. napakabait na tao at di nauubusan ng kwento. masaya kasama at magaling na guro.. hindi lang sa kalokohan, pati rin sa pag bigay ng payo. sabihin mo lang sa kanya for sure tutulungan k nya. yan yung first impression ko kay sir jobar very accommodating and always there to extend help o umalalay lalo na sa mga bago katulad namin.. isang trait ng magaling guro. kaya saludo ako sa iyo sir! salamat sa lahat!"

"Visiting his flickr stream is like traveling
in a realm we often choose to ignore.
He captures life the way it should be captured--real, raw, intrinsic and honest.
I can spend several hours a day looking at his photographs and never get bored. More than just being technically-superb, his pictures overflow with emotions, some can make you cry, others make you laugh but most go straight to your elan.

Jobarracuda a.k.a Uncle Jobie is an altruistic soul
    filled with childish glee,
    a persistent mentor,
    a zany friend,
    a divine companion,
    a reliable critic and nitpicker,
and undeniably, a wizard when it comes to photography! (wizard daw oh, nagmamagic, ayus.)
tama na pambobola, baka lumaki ulo mo, sige ka di rin magkakasya sa passport picture! nyahaha.

You are the best uncle jobie
and i am really honored to have met you :-)"

"bumped into this man in the streets of quiapo, asking me for directions. i wondered.... how is it that a guy with a nice dslr strapped around his neck is lost in this place. i found out that he wasnt lost, rather was looking for a soul to cheer up---it happened to be me at that time. i met him again in another place, he shared his ideas, cracked jokes from time to time. cheered more people this time. then i realized im learning so much from this man, whom i found out later that he his heart is bigger than the laughter he is able to bring to people. His pictures are like ripe fruits, picked at their best time and shared to the world. Kuya keep that light shining! astigin!!!
    ps
ok, he wasnt asking me for directions when we first met....just thot it would be a good intro hehe *(",)*"

And now that I am into this, I go back to this photo from time to time. Noli Me Tangere is a source of inspiration.

Thank you Sir and more power!"

"Kuya Jo is more than just an icon to me but a brother I dearly adore and admire. He knows my soul and understands my feelings. Truely someone who I can identify with.

He hit the ground running when he owned a camera and in such a short span, I have idolized his works and has been more than amazed at how he is able to capture precious life and street moments and how he connects with his subjects.

Kuya Jo, being pro doesnt matter, the trip towards that goal or whatnots is more than sufficient to fulfil our utmost satisfaction and happiness. I wish you more endearing photos to come.

Thank you for being an inspiration.

    Reuel"
