My love of photography began while I was in graduate school in 1972 and needed a "filler" course to keep my full time student classification. "Fundamentals of Photography" was my selection…great choice as it turned out. Those were film days, with hours being spent in the darkroom, largely working just B&W. Great way to learn.
When digital came along I was at first reluctant to put aside my 35mm SLRs, but I eventually did. I've not looked back. First digital camera was a Nikon D70s, replaced by a D300 which I now use as my main camera. Augment that with a Panasonic Lumix LX5 (also have LX3) and a Canon G11.
Now semi-retired, I have enough time to work harder on my photographic abilities. Most of my work is ho-hum, but once in a while I get lucky. My main interests are landscape and old buildings, but I also like close-ups (textures, colors, shapes, etc).
Process using Lightroom 3, with Silver Efex Pro, Photomatix Pro and several Topaz plug-ins. Also use PS CS5. I have as much enjoyment in post as I do when I click the shutter. Learned so much in this regard by being a NAPP member for the past several years.
