I am a "straight photographer," in the school of Weston, Adams, and Cunningham, who does not rely heavily on Photoshop or other manipulation to complete my images. I look for good light, interesting and attractive subjects, and classic compositions. My major influences include Renaissance painting, and Surrealist and Pop art of the 20th century, but I don't seek to emulate the masters, as much as learn from them.

I am formerly a full-time technical and commercial photographer who specialized in science-related subjects. I have ended that phase of my career, and make my living in a related field, developing image analysis software. I now take photographs for the sake of fun and art, rather than profit, although I am known to occasionally take a commission. I work almost exclusively with high-end digital cameras, and do my own large-format printing using the Giclée process.

Currently, I am working on several projects with the eventual goal of hanging shows based on each. The projects include "America the Beautiful," a series of photographs of the ugliest things I've been able to find in the United States; "Fashion Alaska," comprised of photographs of stunning fashions in unexpected settings within Alaska; and a series of unconventional Alaskan landscapes. However, the projects are open-ended, and I am a photographic gourmand - I tend to photograph whatever strikes my fancy, whenever I have the opportunity.

Please feel free to contact me if you wish to be part of my photographic projects, or have any questions or comments about my work.
