"Light glorifies everything. It transforms and ennobles the most commonplace and ordinary subjects. The object is nothing, light is everything."
- Leonard Missone

I love to get out and explore, and I always have my camera in hand when I go. I won't spend time expounding on my passions -- check my sets! :-) I don't have time to post half of what I shoot, but I try to keep up, try to share what I have seen, and how I have seen it.

I also have quite a lot of non-photography material in my stream. I love all things vintage and antique -- the art and design of popular culture prior to 1965. I digitize my collections as time allows, so you may see bursts of golden age illustration here, and Victorian advertising there. I try not to post too much at once.

I've been on flickr a long while, and I love it. I'm grateful for the chance to witness how all of you see the world, what moves you to release your shutters. And I am so glad to have a place to share the visions that inspire me to photography, and to share my collections. It's terrible to think of it all hidden away in drawers and on the computer, so I am (slowly but surely) bringing all my acorns out of the tree. ;-)

"Julia has been one of my favorite Flickrfriends through the past couple of years. She introduced me into the whole Mid-century Modern illustration realm, and her points-of-view through her photographs just keep me coming back."
