I love to take pictures. I got my first SLR camera in the mid-80s, when I was in high school, and I've been busily shooting away ever since.

I learned black and white darkroom procedures and techniques while I was in college (Carleton 1992 grad), and I loved playing around with that art form. I still haven't figured out how to make my digital shots as good as the black and white 35mm shots I used to take; I'm working on it.

For my birthday in 2004, I got my first digital camera. I got an iMac in early 2005. Since I got my first camera, I've taken nearly 6000 photos (as of May, 2008). I've been looking for another repository for my photo archive, so I'm checking out flickr. Any photos I take that have people in them will only be viewable by my friends and family.

Warning: I take a LOT of pictures of my dogs and cats. And since I had a baby on February 24, 2009, I take a lot of photos of her, too.
