Thanks for taking the time to view my photographs. I hope you find something to enjoy, as I have found so many great photographers and photographs on flickr.

I really appreciate it when people take a moment to leave a comment, be it just to say you like something, or constructive criticism! (but please, no large or flashing icons!).

I'd like to be a better people photographer, I'm working on it.

I love to travel with my camera.
I'm interested in Strobist photography.
I like long exposures, I like lightning fast exposures, I like exposures!
I love quirky portraits and photos of characters, and I don't mind so much when they've been photoshopped, just leave the landscape alone.



I'm striving to create accurate, realistic landscapes, amongst other things. I look at some photographs on flickr, enticed by a small vividly colourful thumbnail and I'm usually disappointed by the obvious and incredibly o.t.t editing. I realise it's just one particular aspect of landscape photography, and no doubt a skill, but it's just not my bag.

With my landscapes I try to faithfully record the scene as it appears in front of the lens, though I will add some motion and the passage of time.



I don't do HDR
I don't over saturate or over sharpen
I don't stack a million digital enhancements and filters
I have never 'replaced a sky'... what the hell is that all about, shoot it again or get over it.

I use ND and ND Grad filters
I sometimes polarise
I think I once used a warm up filter...

I'm a Nikon Man, that's just how it turned out ; )
(though I have a few medium format cameras also)
