Professionally, I am the CTO of an investment technology firm. As part of my job, I travel extensively around the globe, and I always take my cameras with me.

Personally, I have been interested in photography for about 25 years, since I was a teenager. During the late 90's, I stopped my photography for a while, but regained an interest when digital cameras became more affordable and more full-featured, purchasing my first digital camera in late 1998. I moved back to digital SLR's in 2002, and have been having a lot of fun since then. I am very interested in night photography, and love to shoot the night sky--especially the aurora borealis and the milky way.

Most recently, I have moved away from DSLRs and am now shooting a Leica M9. The rangefinder suits my style of shooting well, and is a very compact kit for travel, which is very important to me.

I had used Pbase for a number of years, but now put all of my photos on Flickr; I am also scanning in some of my thousands of old transparencies and uploading them here.
