JESSICA FAIRCHILD PHOTOGRAPHY

I am a photojournalist, and I love every second of it.

Because of my love for traveling I do freelance photography for various non-profits.

The organization I work closely with is Invisible Children, who are focused on education in northern Uganda. Last summer I was their photographer in northern Uganda, documenting the progress they are making in holistically rebuilding the war torn area.

In between my traveling adventures, I am majoring in Visual Communication at Westmont College, while pursuing my own photo business of weddings, concerts, and creative portraits on the side.

I have no desire to be paparazzi or a fashion photographer, because I find it ridiculous to sell something to people who already have everything they “need.”

Images are powerful, and can move and inspire, and therefore I want my images to capture the emotion, pain, hurt, broken hearts (around the world, and in my own neighborhood), and bring them back here to tell the story that needs to be told and to open peoples eyes to see the tragedy-and be inspired to do something, and act.

I want to use my artistry to help heal society’s brokenness, and that by my photographs people would be inspired to action.

Basically, at age 20 I have already discovered what I want to do for the rest of my life, and I am doing it.
