Hello, My name is Jeremy Sargent and I would like to thank you for taking the time visit my Flickr page, I am a keen Photographer living in Hampshire with My Wife, Daughter and son who are all a constant source of encouragement and support. I studied photography at college and could often be found experimenting in my father’s darkroom but unfortunately I never saw it through to career level, Instead I went off and did an apprenticeship as a fabricator welder where I achieved some very high qualifications mainly in part due to my attention to detail during pattern devolpment. The end of my apprenticeship fell during the recession of the early 1990's and I was unfortunately made redundant so therefore I had to find myself a job to pay the bills and found myself in retail, a sector I still find myself in today as I never found the right opportunity to get back to the trade I trained for.

During 2010 I found my interest in photography re-sparked and I have been concentrating hard to improve my image making ever since. In this period I have been concentrating mainly on improving my skills in the mediums of Landscape and Seascape fine art both in colour and more recently black and white using long exposure techniques. I invest in the best equipment I can afford so as to produce the highest quality of images I possibly can so as to achieve the most natural looking landscapes and maybe turn this into something more in the future.

Apart from 2 workshop's one with a rather well known Dorset based Landscape photographer and another with one of the experts in the field of long exposure photography, along with advice, guidance and feedback from a very few willing contacts on Flickr, I am largely self-taught.

In 2011 I was approached and asked to do some pack shots and images for his website for a rather exciting product due to hit the shelves during 2012. This has meant I have now also been trying to learn about studio lighting and set ups, it’s been a long self-teaching journey which I hope will also have led to another potential long term contact for shooting some product for another local client who imports cycling accessories for an up-coming website and I hope this is another avenue I can pursue so as to increase my knowledge base.

2012 saw me embrace the use of Photoshop and finally realise it has a place in this digital age of photography to achieve beautiful images that someone may wish to hang on their wall, remind them of their special occasion or promote their product.
