I am a Registered Nurse by profession, and a photography buff, fossil nut, gardener, critter keeper, musician and painter by passion.

I love what I call "Big Nature". it sustains me thru the travails of city life and light pollution. I live in Ann Arbor, Michigan but would prefer Alabama, Georgia, Colorado, Nebraska, Wyoming, S. Dakota, , The Carolina's, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Texas and probably even the Florida panhandle better. Ha! But even the littlest Big Nature works for me so I take lots of flower pictures.

I had a Minolta XG-7 from 1978 till it finally died for good. Got my digital in 2007, and once I could make lots of mistakes that didn't cost me an arm and a leg, I started to improve my photo chops!

Thanks to all of you who have become my Flikr friends. I really love "talking" with you all, and take every comment as encouragement to keep it up!

For those of you who wonder about my garden:
I live in a little townhouse and have a tiny back yard enclosed by a privacy fence. It is amazing how many different plants one can grow in such a small space as long as you keep only 1 or 2 plants of each species. And of course I have little plots along the outside of the fence, and on both sides of my front porch. When the individual plants spread I thin them out and give starters to my friends, neighbors and family.

I refer to the plants I grow indoors as being in my garden as well. I have masses of goodies that live in each window of my home. Many go outside for the summer. My orchids all live on the kitchen table in front of my patio door, along with my cycad and african violets.

PS: For those of you who look at the 'date taken' for photos, I frequently pass over setting the date on my camera. If I'm in an uncontrollable binge of picture taking and have to change the battery, who the heck cares about a date? Ha!
