My name's Jenn Nguyen, and I am Jennuine Photography. I live in Vancouver, and I absolutely adore it! And yes, I took that photo myself.

I started Jennuine Photography about a year ago, just as a hobby. The name "Jennuine" came from a nickname, actually. A dear friend of mine started calling me that about two, three years ago. If you don't get it, it's because it sounds like Jenn Nguyen mixed with genuine. So I decided to make it the name of my photography. Here's hoping that my photos live up to their name.

Taking pictures has always been something I loved doing. Only recently did I think about putting myself out there, for people to see my photos. I had a small point and shoot camera at first, then I broke it. I then broke two more. July 2008, I decided to risk my bad luck with cameras and go out to buy a DSLR. My Nikon D40. It's still my baby today.

My goal through all this is to show the beauty in humanity. Since I don't travel a lot, I tend to stick to Vancouver city life. I love portraiture. It's the one type of photography that I love coming home to process and it just never ends for me. The variety of emotions you get from just the eyes is absolutely breath taking. Character is what makes a photo worth a thousand words, and that is what I'm in love with.
