"I stumbled upon Jelmer's photography totally by chance while exploring a "drumming" related group. Well I am very happy it happened.
The first image I came upon was this amazing shot of Rush's Neil Peart performing his magic. My first thought was that someone had posted a magazine shot into their photo set. The composition was phenomenal! The entire front of the emmense drum kit is visible, perfectly framing the great master in the centre.
More exploration of his set reveals shot after shot of the great performers, each one as good or better than the one preceding it, and each picture being worthy of making the cover of Rolling Stone!
Exposure, colour tones, composition and most importantly "the moment" are all captured perfectly with each image placing the viewer right in the front seat of the performance!
Absolutely brilliant work Jelmer! I don't know how you manage to get these amazing shots, but thank you for taking them!
