I was born in Massachussetts, lived 6 miles from Thoreau's Walden Pond, and explored nearby woods and waterways. I grew up hiking in the White Mountains in New Hampshire and snorkeling the coast from Cape Cod to Maine.

Upon moving to California in the 1970s I was walking in the shadow of the Range of Light, in the footsteps of John Muir and Ansel Adams. I took up backpacking and 35mm photography in 1974.

My exploration of natural environments continues, today as a freelance photographer who conducts photography workshops in some of America’s most exotic landscapes.

I'm currently researching and writing a travel guide to the best landscape photography locations in California. It's expected to be available in early 2012.
