Jeffrey Ricker is a writer and graphic designer living in St. Louis, Mo. with his partner, two dogs, and two dog-like cats. He works at the Missouri Botanical Garden and promises not to write about any of his co-workers. He dislikes referring to himself in the third person. A graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism, his first novel, DETOURS, will be published in 2011 by Bold Strokes Books.


His short story, "New Normal," received an honorable mention in the Glimmer Train Very Short Fiction Contest and was published in August 2010 by Untreed Reads.

His short story, "Something Like Heaven," was a finalist in the Gertrude Press 2009 Fiction Chapbook contest.

"At the End of the Leash" was included in the anthology "Fool for Love," edited by Timothy J. Lambert and R.D. Cochrane, published by Cleis Press.

His story "Lifeblood" appears in the anthology BLOOD SACRAMENTS from Bold Strokes Books.
