Who are you?
My name is JD Hancock. I live with my wife and two kids just outside of Austin, TX. Professionally, I work on websites and iPhone apps for a living. Photography is one of the things I do for fun.

What do you like?
I've always been fascinated by models and other "small scale" things. I have two running series — Little Dudes and Stormtroopers — that reflect this interest. I am a recovering pack rat, and as I uncover interesting bits from my past I often document them. I'm also a sucker for a good hero story.

What equipment do you use?
I recently acquired a used Nikon D50 from a friend, but most of my photos were taken with a simple Nikon Coolpix S50 point-and-shoot, and a few were shot with my iPhone camera. I don't have much specialized equipment. I use iPhoto for image management and post-processing, and I occasionally use Photoshop as well. I have an Ott-light for indoor close-up photography. I snapped a few photos of a typical photo setup for those who are curious.
