I am 32 years old. Been into art for a while, used to draw a lot back when I was in high school and into college. Always wanted to get into photography since junior high school and just couldn't afford it back then. Now that I am older and lost the desire to draw and can afford some entry level DSLR stuff I'm finally exploring photography as an artistic outlet. I also became a father back in 2007 and really want to be able to take some great pictures of my daughter and document her childhood for some lasting memories.

I am also a U.S. Army Veteran, serving from 1996 to 2004. I was stationed in Schweinfurt, Germany. Also deployed to Bosnia in '96-'97 and to Kosovo in '99. After that I was stationed at Ft. Hood for a year before getting out of active duty and going into the reserves. While I was in the military I took lots of pictures with a film point and shoot camera, wish I'd had something better back then. (but it probably would have gotten broken anyways)

Someday I would like to pursue photography as a means to make a buck either on the side or for a career, but I have a lot to learn before I do.
