I enjoy photography and strive for that one perfect shot although most of the time I'm just having fun with it. Took some photography courses many years ago and started out with a Canon TLB. It's now a paperweight and I think I've forgotten more than I ever learned. Hadn't done much for many years and have just started taking more photos in the last 2-3 years. Have discovered Photoshop and love wasting hours playing with it. My goal now with digital is to learn and grow as an amateur photographer. Any comments and suggestions are always welcome.
I do try to keep up with all my contacts and your new shots but please forgive me if at times life gets in the way and I'm not able to. Also if I don't reciprocate if you mark me as a contact, please don't take it personally. If I had too many contacts, it would become impossible to keep up with everyone.
Please, if you blog one of my photos I would like to be informed and given a link.
Sept./07 UPDATE-- I have recently acquired the Canon 40D as well as the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 IS lens, the 24-70mm f/2.8 lens and the Canon 10-22mm lens. I also own the Canon 100mm f/2.8 macro lens. Now all I need is a long telephoto :-). A big thank you to all the people who helped me with my decisions re: which lenses to buy. You all know who you are and I appreciate the input.
All photos are copyrighted but if you would like to use one, please notify me. I'm usually not too anal about it but would appreciate that you ask.
I live in Ontario, Canada.

The - Bigger Picture says:
"Jill... Jill... Jill. What can I say about Jill. I have had the unique opportunity to meet and work with Jill on a very special project that was the Ontario Winter Games, and I can honestly say she is as nice in person as she is on Flickr. She is very modest at times about her work, but she has an incredible gift, and I enjoy viewing her work tremendously. Hopefully we can work together again in 2010."

Darby & Me says:
"I first met Jill during her Hollywood days. She worked then as a body double for Sharon Stone, although she will modestly deny it. She nearly hit the big time with her role as the lovable, kooky character "Midge" in a very popular and entertaining series of hemorrhoid creme commercials.
I'm sorry to say that I lost track of Jill after that. I heard rumors of her daring escapades in Nepal and of a serious dust-up in Kathmandu, but I always traveled a step behind, arriving a day or week too late. She seemed to be part legend and part ghost.
When I was hunting moose in Canada one Fall, our paths finally crossed again. Now an international fugitive, she had taken up with a indigent tribe of nomadic Eskimos and she seemed to have been driven half insane from cold, malnutrition and those long Canadian nights. She had grown worn, old and bitter, vowing revenge on some imagined nemesis.
The last time I saw Jill she thought I was a polar bear and seemed to be making a romantic overture toward me. I'm so glad to see that she now has no apparent memory of that embarrassing incident.
It is so nice to to find her once again here on Flickr! Jill has a great eye. I am unsure exactly how she lost the other one. She's a highly skilled photographer and artist. Like so many gifted individuals, she does have her eccentricities. Loudly and in public, she likes to proclaim, "That will put some air in your banana!"."26th June, 2008

"I thought I had written a testimonial for Jill, but being a bit slow I didn't yet.
Well that time has come and I really don't have any bad words for her, although it is easy to pick on her and she is such a good sport about it.
I am always amazed at what she captures and the funky comments going on in her stream.
It is always worth a visit and is one of the very few that I will actually spend time reading all the comments. Her friend Mike just doesn't appear to treat her well, but he is actually a fun guy.
Anytime you see a photo of hers please comment and don't be scared to be funny.
It wasn't until recently that I actually saw how gorgeous she is and getting back to her dolphin nature....lol
Thanks for always being kind and fun Jill. Can't wait for my turn to go out and shoot some cool photos with you."12th May, 2008

"Jill's photostream is filled with wonderful works of art. I was trying to pick a favorite...of course it is impossible! They are all so very beautiful! I love her sense of humor and her generous comments!
She is what flickr is all about, someone who shares their beautiful art, and has the ability to give you a smile and laugh so easily. She is a terrific person, and I am proud to call her friend."9th March, 2008

"Jill is my favorite contact for a couple of reasons: Her photos are absolutely spectacular and her comments are always thoughtful and supportive.
For someone like me to receive supportive comments from someone as accomplished as Jill is like having Michael Jordan telling me I have a promising jump shot."25th February, 2008

"I'm going to write Jill a testimonial....even though she only posts one photo like every 5 weeks. Maybe, I'll post one line on her testimonial every time she actually posts a shot.
But seriously, her stuff is always good...and worth the wait. She lives in a magnificent area, and her shots prove it. She has an original perspective on everything, and a delightful attitude to boot. I don't know how she finds the time to be so kind to all her contacts...but she's definately one of my favorite contacts, and I look forward to her commentary almost as much as the photos she posts."15th January, 2008

"I'm not sure where to start with Jill , not knowing what I like the most about her , personality or photos , I was lucky enough to have met Jill a few time , she's an ex ER nurse and I'm an ex Paramedic , but one thing for sure we both share the same passion about life , we both replaced our adrenaline pumping jobs with a new passion that is photography .
Jill is more than a flickr friend to me , she has turned into a real life friend and I'm always looking forward to her new postings , like a fine wine she is improving with time and she is an outstanding photographer

"I have to begin by saying that I agree with everything Mike Jones said in his testimonial for Jill. She is an excaptional photographer and a wonderful person. I've enjoyed getting to know her and have thoroughly enjoyed her photos. She has a true talent for composition and knows how to find the shot within a scene. Keep up the good work, Jill.
And Mike, I also agree....you are a complete as*****. :-)"13th November, 2007

"I have met so many fantastic people since I have joined flickr, and I have to say that Jill is one of the most fantasticest... Umm... I don't think that's a word. OK, she is more fantasticer than most of the fantastic people I've met on flickr. I have been a professional photographer for 17 years, and worked most of that time as a photojournalist. Between idiots that I have worked with, and idiots I knew shooting for other newspapers and magazines, I have known hundreds of 'professional' photographers who don't know a damn thing about photography. Jill knows more about photography than 90% of the so called 'professional' photographers I've known. She has a great eye for composition. (she may even have two eyes, I can only see one in her icon) (do Canadians have two eyes?) When reading my sarcastic comments, some people just think that I am a complete asshole! But... Those people who really get to know me, realize that, in fact I am a complete asshole, with a really good sense of humor, who actually takes some pretty decent photos. It has been so much fun meeting someone who shares my wacky sense of humor. Thanks Jill for making flickr so much fun. Some people who read my comments think that I'm anti-Canadian. That just makes me laugh! The truth is, I wanted to become friends with Jill when I realized she was a Canadian. I travel constantly, and meet lots of people. Seems like whenever I get talking to Canadians, they are always nice, fun, friendly, great people. She may not know how to spell color... But jill is one of the nicest people I know. And, for a dumbass, she's a hell of a good photographer!"

JIM'S IMAGES* says:
"Jill,
. I've wanted to speak a little something about you for a while now but what can I say that hasn't been said here plenty of times? First of all, your images speak for themselves. Gorgeous. Nice variety. I really like variety.
Your photography is incredible, most always flawless, both in technique, composition and on and on. (smile) You "somehow" find time to recognize your friends on flickr and I know how that can be. I try to do my best as well but I'm not as good as you. (smile) Did you hire a few temps to help out part time? LOL
Just an all around role model for what a awesome photographer is.
It's a true pleasure to go through your photostream and always look forward to your new stuff.
May your next shot be your best.
Take care,
Jim
