There never seems to be enough time. Never enough time to do things properly.....
I bless the day when digital cameras were introduced.

Sept 2006
Wherever I go I like to have a camera close to hand. I feel naked without. I've even been known to slip a camera into the pocket of my dinner jacket.
I take pictures of anything and everything. This causes a reaction with any current company, ranging from mild humourous banter at my eccentric behaviour, to eyeball popping rage at my inconsideration and bad manners.
But, what can I do? It's an addiction, a drug....like alcohol, I know it's messing me up, and there will be a price to pay, but that's somewhere in the future. And it feels so good.
Then there's the pictures, thousands and thousands of them. I barely have the time to download, sort through into directories and delete obvious failures. Photoshop? Paintshop Pro? Yes, yes, I know that editing can sometimes turn mediocre into 'not bad', but where do these people find the time? I find it a struggle to find time to get my head round the camera (and remembering), let alone some mind-spinning software. And I have to fit in eating, sleeping and going to the toilet.

The trouble with Flickr is that I'm no longer just taking the pictures I want to take, but considering what might go well on Flickr. I'm beginning to lose confidence in what I think is a good picture.

The good thing about Flickr is all the sunsets (including mine!).

Abandoned all hope of getting my head round Photoshop, or EVEN PaintshopPro.............my, but this Laphroig whisky tastes good.

    George D Thompson says:

"What do churches, butterflies, mushrooms, money, "NO SMOKING" signs in the Welsh language, jellyfish, and moonlight memorials to a bout of midnight drinking have in common?
John has photographed them all, of course, and then presented them for our delectation and amusement on flickr.
He is an excellent photographer (NO BELM) and is never sarcastic (BELM).
What would we do without him?
Long may he grace the proud pages of flickr."

"The singular arrangement presented within these here photos only adds to my father’s eye for something more than just a chap with a fancy camera and a fancy lens. He some how trap’s what he’s seen when he has seen it, right at that very moment. Meaning nothing to you or I. Though the thought that it means so much to him, starts to drag you in. Then makes you wait around for more and…"
