I'm currently a Peace Corps Volunteer in Kazakhstan.

I work in Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan, a sleepy city in the north-eastern portion of Kazakhstan with a population of close to 400,000 people. I teach the English language (as well as run local clubs and community service projects) at East Kazakhstan State University.

I started my flickr collection at the start of my service, so most of the pictures you see here will be of Kazakhstan and the rest of my travels. Please feel free to read my blog for more about my work here.

I've long been interested in photography, starting out with a film Canon Rebel SLR, but I have recently upgraded to a Canon Rebel EOS 40D Digital SLR. My camera collection currently consists of three lenses:

A cheap kit Canon Zoom EF 28-80mm 1:3-5.6
Another cheap (but slightly better) Canon EF 50mm 1:1.8
And my lovely Canon 85 EF 85mm 1:1.8
