From: Galway, although I spent eight years in Dublin and now live in Oxford.
Work: I have a PhD in Irish history from Trinity College Dublin and currently spend my time researching for myself and others (three years after finishing a PhD I'm finally getting interested in my own research again). I've also worked as an administrator, university tutor, waitress, checkout girl, Irish army reservist and conveyor belt person in a Dutch parmesan cheese factory (couldn't face eating it for years afterwards...).
Other interests: Travelling, reading, films, spending far more time in church than most under-50s
What I like to photography: Anything really, but mostly architecture, nature and anything to do with the sea.
