I started to take photography seriously as I opened up my Flickr account and bought my first reflex --- a Canon 350D --- in July 2007. Most pictures in my stream are of the region I live in (Lille, Roubaix, Douai) and places I've visited since then; mostly Paris, Normandy, Frankfurt, Madrid, Carcassonne and Munich. A few other pictures are more artistic and/or experimental. For some months now I've been shooting almost exclusively in film with a Canon A-1, a Canon T-90 and a good collection of FD lenses. Recently I've been favoring my 35mm f/2 lens.

Who am I ? I'm a researcher/professor of Mathematics at the Universite des Sciences et Technologies de Lille who's originally from Venezuela, but who has lived abroad (NYC, Belgium and France) most of his life. My main non-professional interests are literature, languages, films, opera, travel, hiking, and, more recently, photography.
