I am living and working in Nelson Mandela Township (Nemato), Port Alfred, Eastern Cape, South-Africa. I love the place, the people, the weather, and the beach. We started Nemato Rowing Club in 2005. It is a sport and empowerment club for youth. It is a much needed project as the impoverished youth here has very little hope for a better future and we seem to be able to make a real change. We have now four sports clubs: rowing, gymnastics, netball and fencing. Our empowerment program is run by Nemato Sports Federation and includes homework classes, feeding, President's Awards, skills training, career counselling and much more.
