  It is not overdoing the case to apply Wordsworth's lines to James images. His pictures do show us the clear difference between the pretty and the beautiful. Their technical excellence is really the unobtrusive base on which a profoundly, rich, elegant, often metaphorical subject matter is expressed.

  "James’s photo stream is one of my favourite on Flickr in the main because of its overall consistent quality and the high degree of technical aptitude and skill that it demonstrates. I actually like the fact that he obviously takes time (lots I would imagine) over what he does meaning that with James you get quality rather than quantity which is no bad thing
  
  On a more simplistic level, forgetting the technical side of things, his photos are simply beautiful images to look at. I find in particular his floral images are brilliant and as I said in one of my comments no one, in my opinion, does them better. I say this as someone who normally does not have an affinity with floral subjects but I am happy to make an exception in James’s case
  
  I think if I had to summarise his work in two words I would say ‘elegant beauty’
