Born in Redhill in 1979, James moved with his family to Perth at the age of three. Graduating from the University of Edinburgh with a degree in Electronics and Electrical Engineering, he lived in Edinburgh for eight years before moving with his wife to the rural Scottish Borders.
During the working week, James is a busy Project Engineer but he looks forward to taking photographs in his spare time. With a keen interest in photography from an early age and an eye for interesting subjects, he made use of automatic film cameras to hone his composition skills. It was not until 2002 that the advantages of SLR cameras became known to James. Then, in 2005, the world of photography truly opened up to him when he purchased his first digital SLR.
Now, with a firm understanding of the technical and creative aspects of photography, James finds pleasure in portraiture, but enjoys most other forms of photography as well.
