Pocket gardens, intricate embroideries inspired by landscapes, water and gardens. Fabric printing, hand and machine embroidery.
My childhood, in a creative family, was spent in many rural areas of this country where I developed a love of the sea, land and the natural world. I am still inspired by landscapes, water and gardens.
Now an experienced teacher of textiles I am continuing to pass on the crafts of fabric, fibre and threads.
I studied Fashion and Textiles at Bournemouth and East London, where I specialised in screen printing. Where those facilities were not available I concentrated on my other passion embroidery.
My pocket gardens are small intricate embroidered gardens hidden in boxes.
My work has been exhibited and is in private collections in Britain, Japan and Australia and I have undertaken many commissions.
I am fascinated by the history of textiles as it touches every moment of our lives and the future possibilities and I still have endless ideas waiting...
