Since 1990, I have been a self-employed photographer. I have worked as a writer, photographer, and graphic artist correspondent for local and regional publications since 2004. Effective November 2011, I became a contributor for the Yahoo! Network online.

If I am slow responding to invites and/or other Flickr correspondence; please be patient! I have MAJOR personal projects PAST DUE!!! Due to time restraints, it is not possible for me to participate in groups requiring multiple comments per photo post.

A year ago in late January 2011, I scored 100 on the final exam for a "Creating Web Pages" HTML online class The class was extremely tedious and time consuming. I definitely learned how to create a webpage/website using HTML 4.01 Transitional, the current primary language/foundation for creating webpages & websites. Hopefully, I will be able to begin taking advanced web design & Adobe Photoshop online classes in the near future.

During early June 2010, it was necessary to give Bambino, my 12 year old dog away. Bambino does have a loving new "furever" home. :-)

Due to my personal medical issues, some members of the cat family are available for adoption. PLEASE Flickr mail me; if you are interested in providing a new "furever" home for one and/or more of my beloved cats.

"Poohbear's Please Help Pets!" is dedicated to my beloved neutered male. long haired gray & white Tabby cat, Poohbear (Pooh); who died August 22, 2008 from cancer related causes. Poohbear was 12 years old. Pooh loved helping other cats and Bambino, the dog. It RIPPED me apart to hear Poohbear's FINAL pleas for help, and watch him die at 1:30 a.m., August 22, 2008. I could not afford to go to the emergency vet clinic; which is very expensive. I had an appointment scheduled for him with my vet on 8/22/2008, too late!
Any funds donated to "Poohbear's Please Help Pets!" will be placed in a special account for the cats' care.

Due to long term Hepatitis C Type 1-A and other medical issues, I am only able to work part-time. My M.A. Degree was received in 1982 with an emphasis in B&W Photography, Art Gallery/Museum Management, Art History, Communications, and Hispanic Studies. I received my B.A. degree in 1976 with a Major in Studio Art and Minor in Art History.

From 2006 thru September 2009, I also worked part-time as a corporate tax preparer.

I love deck gardening. A colony of small green tree frogs lived on my deck Fall 2007 & Spring 2008 before a Racer snake claimed many of their lives. One small green tree frog, "Mr. Frog" resided in a hanging basket all summer 2009. :-) "Mr. Frog" departed in mid-September 2009 after nightly frogs quacks communications. On 6/16/2011, a green tree frog jumped on my arm :-) while watering plants on the deck. This is the first small green tree frog seen by me on my deck since September 2009.

Padre Island and the Gulf of Mexico are a short drive from my home. The Laguna Madre waterway; which separates Padre Island from the main land, is near my home. The famous King Ranch's northern borders are within walking distance. Behind my home is dense native brushland and native wildlife. Occasionally, a Mexican Black Panther travels thru this area and drinks water from the pond at a nearby horse farm . During the past 4 years, two of my cats disappeared to the brush. Another survived a predator attack, Calico. She limped home badly injured from a nasty abscessed wound, after being gone a month circa 2007.
1/2012--Calico has been MISSING again, since June 2011.

During 2009 & 2010, my pets, home, and i were struck by a plague of uncommon & some unidentifiable very tiny creatures. A pest control expert suspected defective exterior trim on my modest mobile home was the cause of most very tiny pests & other problems. The defective trim was removed and replaced with new exterior trim by the city with HUD grant funds during December 2010. The old carpet still needs to replaced as prescribed by two doctors and a pest control technician circa 5/2010. After professional cleaning and allergens' treatments 12/2011, the carpet is still causing problems as 2012 begins.

When seeking answers about life and my spiritual well being, I find my personal answers, faith, and shelter regarding spiritual issues thru the Christian faith in the Roman Catholic Christian Church. I joined Flickr in 2008 to share personal photos, view others' photography & photo art works, share comments, and learn from other photographers. Flickr is much more than an online space for posting photos, videos, etc. Flickr has become a Very Special place for me to share life with others who also love photography, animals, art, and nature. Flickr ignites and fuels the passions, loves, and lives of those who have chosen to share their photos, photos graphics, videos, words, music, and links to special web sites with me. Viewing others' photography & photo art works is inspiring, educational, and fun. I am currently shooting photos with a Used Kodak M863 pns 8.2 mp camera (Do Not buy one!). My 2004 model Nikon Coolpix 5400 needs to go to Nikon for repairs. I also have a 1999 model Canon 35mm EOS Rebel II SLR film camera w/ a 35-80mm AF lens . I am planning to buy a new digital SLR camera in the near future.
Previously, I owned 2 Nikon FE2 35mm SLR cameras. My 35mm Canon SLR camera has been much more reliable than my Nikons.

A special Congratulations to my friend Nick for visiting his dermatologist annually. Melanoma cancer was recently discovered and removed. Since Nick does have his regular skin examinations; Melanoma was caught very early; before it spread, and was totally removed.
