I am 51 years old and have just recently taken up amateur photography. I purchased a Panasonic Lumix fz18 in June '09, as I was told it was a good point and shoot entry camera. It is a steep learning curve, but I am enjoying the experience. Hopefully I will see an improvement in my pictures as I learn from my mistakes.

I live on the coast in Walmer near Deal, which is in the south east of England. I have lived by the coast all my life, which is why most of my pictures so far, have a coastal theme.

Now using a Canon eos1000d as well as lumix fz18. Still love my lumix though.
I now have a canon eos40d as well. (Feb2011)

I have nearly reached my first Birthday on flickr and I have had a great time - it is so addictive! If you ask Amanda, my partner she would probably say a little bit too much time spent, but she does get to watch whatever she likes on TV now, as I am always hogging the computer.

I would like to thank all of you who have looked at, commented on and favourited my photographs in the past year. I do try to pass by the photosteams of you who do comment and favourite, but as my contact list, group list and photos increase it is sometime difficult to keep on top of it all. I do appreciate all comments given, as they have boosted my confidence and helped me to improve my photography skills - I think!

Biggest mistakes:
1. Forgetting to change the camera settings.
2. Leaving the lens cap on.
3. Leaving the house without my camera.
4. Taking the wrong lens.
5. Trying to be too clever.
