At the end of 1990 in Moscow in a family of surrealist artists there was born a girl named Daniela. The mixture of freedom-loving Romanian blood, hot Russian blood and parents’ creative nature moulded a bright, sensitive and expressive child. Her father was a graphic artist and a photographer of bohemian disposition. Her mother was a surrealist artist whose art had always enchanted Daniela.
Just like the majority of children, Daniela was sent to music school just for overall development. However, immediately after she had won her first contest, Daniela was awarded with the title of “Little genius in the violin category”. “And this nightmare with Vivaldi concerts for violin and orchestra kept chasing me for 8 years altogether!”, she remembers. Daniela almost never had any true friends among girls – it was easier for her to get along with boys. And these were boys who she was making friends with. She didn’t play with dolls, but was mainly occupied with painting and other creative work instead. These and other life factors contributed to the formation of a rather masculine character in a girl who seemed fragile at first sight. One day her limitless will and devotion to her dreams in combination with soul’s inner protests killed Daniela and presented the world with Jack Riot and his egocentric "I am”!
Jack began to master guitar already in his early years. In the same period he made his first attempts to form his own band. Jack never stopped writing, singing and striving for his goals. He was composing his own music and painstakingly tracing out each letter of his first lyrics. From the earliest childhood he was a hyperactive person, a desire for creation and achieving his goals never left him for a moment.
And then there came a bright age of seventeen. "Oh, I really did rock-n-roll in my seventeens!”, this is how Jack briefly depicts those times. After quite a wild period there came a moment to reappraise the art he was creating. Jack got inflamed with desire to work, achieve, break down, but to keep approaching his dream. Twenty four hours a day Jack dedicated to music and guitar playing, with no pity for himself, he played until his fingers bled, wanting to become a little better and to approximate to his vague ideal of himself.
Jack has always been famous for his ultimately startling and odd character. The combination of talent with features of a rebel in the female appearance and an incredibly beautiful voice couldn't fail to impress music industry professionals. As a result, at the beginning of 2009 there appeared a group called Jack Riot, the art director and manager of which became Danila Seliverstov. The new project has acquired a modern concept of style and positioning which is destined to emphasize the individuality of Jack’s art and character. The group is constantly developing. The existing material is being re-recorded. The group started the search for musicians who could be the right ones to rise to higher levels of creative work and to create a comfortable and tight-knit team of people united by the common goal of living for music and striving to become better. In spring the group was joined by a talented bass player Ilya Dubinin (Lestat) who Jack immediately got along with. Ilya, being the direct contrary of Jack, counterbalanced him harmoniously and took his deserved place in Jack Riot. The search for a permanent drummer continued for half a year until Oleg Klychnikov finally joined the group and brought second wind to group’s live performances.
At the moment the group is undergoing an active development, recording new songs and acquiring fans all over the world, from the USA to Japan. Making of their first music video is planned for spring 2010, and by the summer Jack Riot are going to release their first album.
Jack Riot is a rebel, youthful rage and ineradicable desire to build one’s own unique reality, to break through all obstacles and to achieve one's goal. This inexhaustible rebel nature from the first chords and fragile inclusions of lyrical compositions form a rich range of Jack Riot’s sincere self-expression.
"I don’t know yet where my path will lead me, but I’m walking with utter confidence! I’m even too confident! In fact, all I want is to be occupied with music for the rest of my life. And that's all! It inspires me ceaselessly to keep moving forward. The whole life becomes a battle, breaking of walls, getting over the obstacles. And I like it! It makes it interesting. It’s much better than safe triviality." – Jack, group “Jack Riot”.
