I have only recently starting getting serious about Flickr. I have been in love with photography since I was a kid. I used to save my allowance to pay for film developing. I can still remember using 4-sided flash cubes. ;-)

I shot 35mm film and slide photography for a bunch of years on a Canon AE-1, but when digital came along I was sold. I was so early into digital I think I paid nearly $1000 for my 3 MP Olympus C3030Z (which I still have and use). I shoot a lot of my flower macros with a 8 MP Sony Cybershot DSC-N1 because the macro feature works great, and I don't have a good macro lens yet for my primary camera, a 10 MP Nikon D200. But, I LOVE shooting with my D200!!!

If you look at my photos you will find that I mostly shoot nature and outdoor photos, (i.e. no people). I like the stillness and solitude of flowers and abandon buildings. Occasionally I will shoot a people shot, but it's not my first love. Other people do that so much better than me.

I was never interested in trying to make a living at photography. Since I already make a good living, I don't have to ruin a perfectly good hobby by trying to make money at it. However, I am not opposed to accepting a check for a photo if something really strikes you. I can always spend it on more camera gear. ;-)
